Eventually we stumbled across Virunga honey from Rwanda, and instantly knew it was a hit! This amazing rainforest honey has a completely unique flavour, and gives our classic Caribbean-style rum a warm sweetness and rich flavour. The Rwandan government pay farmers in the Virunga jungle way over the odds to encourage them to produce this delicious honey, in order to prevent deforestation and in turn protect the gorilla habitats. This means that every bottle of rum we sell helps make sure Rwanda’s gorillas are protected for years to come. Which is pretty cool, right?
